About

I am a 5th year graduate student working with Professors Adam Sobel and Michela Biasutti at Columbia University in the Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics Department. The focus of my research follows the thread of causality between boundary layer convergence and tropical convection.

Currently my research aims to address the following questions:
  • How does boundary layer convergence force subseasonal precipitation in the tropics?
  • Since SST is a relatively constant feature in time, what additional forcings drive boundary layer convergence that relates to convection?
  • How do transients, such as Easterly Waves and the MJO, interact with local dynamics and thermodynamics to drive boundary layer convergence of moisture and precipitation?
